Moonlet

Terms of Use

Rules for your private Moonlet archive, Moon Map sharing, community participation, subscriptions, and lunar tools.

Effective July 13, 2026

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms govern your access to Moonlet’s mobile app, Moon Map, and related services. By creating an account or using Moonlet, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 13 and meet the minimum age required to consent to online services where you live. If you cannot legally agree, a parent or guardian must agree for you.

2. Your account

Moonlet uses Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for access to your Apple account and devices and activity through your Moonlet account. Do not impersonate another person. Contact moonlethq@outlook.com if you believe your account is compromised.

Settings includes controls to sign out and permanently delete your account and associated content.

3. Private archive and Moon Map

A private Moonlet is accessible through your account. A Moon Map submission appears immediately on your own Map while Moonlet reviews the photo and caption for safety. It becomes visible to others only after approval and normally remains public for 24 hours. Expiration from the Map does not delete the copy in your private archive.

Location controls reduce public precision but cannot guarantee that a place cannot be inferred from a recognizable photo, caption, landmark, or context. Do not post private addresses or identifying details.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of photos, captions, and other content you submit. You represent that you created the content or have the rights and permissions needed to use it.

You grant Moonlet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, transmit, and display your content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, moderate, improve, and provide Moonlet according to your privacy choices. This license ends when content is deleted, except for temporary technical copies, backups, or records lawfully retained.

5. Community safety

Moonlet is for genuine moon, night-sky, and moonlit moments. You may not post or use Moonlet in a way that is illegal, sexually explicit, exploitative, violent, hateful, harassing, threatening, deceptive, spammy, privacy-invasive, infringing, malicious, or unrelated to the service.

The Community Guidelines are part of these Terms. Users can report content and block users. Moonlet may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, preserve relevant evidence, or terminate accounts to enforce these Terms, protect the community, or comply with law.

6. Moon and weather information

Moon phases, rise and set times, eclipse information, visibility estimates, weather, reminders, and alerts are informational and may be delayed, approximate, unavailable, or inaccurate. Do not rely on Moonlet for navigation, safety, emergency planning, aviation, maritime activity, or other high-risk decisions.

7. Purchases and Moonlet+

Moonlet offers optional monthly and yearly auto-renewing Moonlet+ subscriptions. Moonlet+ includes an archive of up to 100 Moonlets, the complete Moon Map and public sharing, all Moon Tools, premium alerts, and challenges and badges. The localized price, billing period, and trial are displayed before purchase.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account when confirmed. A subscription renews unless canceled before renewal. A paid subscription starts when a free trial ends unless canceled. Manage or cancel it in Apple Account settings. Deleting Moonlet does not cancel a subscription.

8. Service and intellectual property

Moonlet grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose. Moonlet’s software, design, branding, illustrations, and interface—excluding user content—are owned by Moonlet or its licensors.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features, impose reasonable limits, or perform maintenance. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every device.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moonlet is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or preservation of content. Keep independent copies of photos that matter to you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moonlet is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost data or profits, personal interactions, user content, or reliance on astronomy or weather information. Mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.

10. Apple App Store terms

These Terms are between you and Moonlet, not Apple. Moonlet is responsible for the app, support, maintenance, and related claims. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Your use must follow the Apple Media Services Usage Rules and applicable third-party terms.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce it.

11. General terms

These Terms are governed by applicable law without removing mandatory consumer protections. Contact moonlethq@outlook.com before filing a formal claim so we can try to resolve it.

If one provision is unenforceable, the others continue. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and purchase terms presented to you form the agreement concerning Moonlet.
